My ex calls me at least once a month. The conversation tends to go pretty much the same way. He starts off by telling me that he messed up by dumping me and that now he can’t live without me. In the beginning I fell for his shameless begging to win me back, but as the words never matched his actions, I soon let them fall on deaf ears.
I’m sure he felt like he messed up, because in actuality he did. He thought the grass was greener on the other side. What he thought glittered wasn’t gold. That was his fault. Not mine. Our relationship was pretty good, in my opinion anyway. We hardly fought and we talked about our future together. It just became clear that he just thought he would get a better deal with some other chick. And like most men with no sense, he gambled and he lost.
Would I have gotten back with him under different circumstances? Sure, such as we had a big argument or we decided to take a break. But nothing like that happened. It actually came out of left field and the calls just stopped with no explanation whatsoever. What grown man does that? Not the one I want to be my husband some day.
I would have taken him back, because let’s be real, my feelings for him did not die that day. If I thought he was going through something, then I would have forgiven him. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case. I believe in my heart he left me for another woman and since I’m no one’s second choice I won’t take him back. Ever. I know that if I take him back, there’s a high probability he would do the same thing to me again. Either when things get too hot and uncomfortable for him or he just wants someone more than he wants me. Too bad for him we will never find out.
If you are like me and is moving on from your man, then you might want to go over here to to learn how to date smart and get the heart of a new man.
